When Families Grieve

I attended the funeral of a young dad today, the parent of one of my daughter’s schoolmates. He died suddenly, unexpectedly, of a heart attack. Pete left behind a loving wife and two young daughters. When we got the shocking news, all of the moms starting talking about what we could do for the family? Send a card, give a gift, make a meal, let them know we are praying for them… good deeds but it just didn’t seem like enough.

I would like to share a program that Sesame Street produced called “When Families Grieve”. I also shared this with the moms from school hoping that it would bring comfort and understanding.
